ARC Salon Competition – 2012/2013 Results for Award winners plus finalists:
With an approximate 2000 entries this year by over 850 artists, the competition was steeper than ever. Even with an additional category, expanding our finalist cut up to the top 600 entries, the finalists only include the top 30% of works submitted. The Salon Catalogue will most likely run about 200 pages and include over 600 full color images, the winners receiving full page plates. They had the largest number of purchase awards ever with 17 works being acquired, the value of the paintings totaling over $240,000. This is in addition to the $40,000 in cash prizes and the production of the DVD, valued at $25,000.

IGOR's Allied Orangizations
IGOR is now an allied organization with the Art Renewal Center since we have similar goals and mission statement. ARC is an educational foundation dedicated to the renewal of classical training in the arts. In addition to scholarships and hosting the largest online museum dedicated to traditional painting, they hold one of the most prestigious competitions for living artists who paint in the realist tradition.
Kara Lysandra Ross, Director of Operations of the Art Renewal Center, gave the keynote speech "Why Realist Art Matters" during our 7th Annual Exhibition "Weekend of Art Events" in Carmel, CA. Her speech was excellent and you can now read a full version of it by clicking here.
